What is a WEBINAR?

A webinar is a term used to describe a specific type of web conference short for "Web Seminar". Webinar's are just like a conference room based seminar, however, participants participate remotely via a computer. It is typically one-way, from the speaker to the audience with limited audience interaction. A webinar can be collaborative and include polling and question & answer sessions to allow full participation between the audience and the presenter. In some cases, the presenter may speak over a standard telephone line or through the use of VoIP audio technology, to allow for a truly web-based communication.

What are Webinars used for?

Webinar's are primarily used to train a large number of people on a particular subject.

What are the benefits?

  • Cost Effective.
  • Digitally record and allow future playback.
  • Review information and trainings on a particular subject.
  • Earn continuing education hours.

What do I need to attend?

  1. A computer
  2. Internet access
  3. A phone line for listening to the teleconference portion
